Well, it’s time to kickstart this blog again. I just gave my buddy David Guastaferro a tip about keeping a blog going and figured I’d better take the advice myself.
It concerned that phenomenon where if you leave the blog untouched for a while, you feel the need to make your next posting something really amazing. So you let it sit longer, making the problem worse. So I’m going to short-circuit that little cycle and just post something, a routine update.
I’ve been unusually self-absorbed this summer, re-examining lots of aspects of myself, who I’ve become, the way I relate to others. I’m not ready to post my results yet. Frankly I’m not sure I ever will be. But it has definitely been a memorable summer.
A big part of that is the rekindling of my marriage; as my wife sheds pounds following her lap band surgery her self-confidence is returning, and I’m seeing the long-awaited re-emergence of the woman I married. She’s buying dresses now (dresses!) and pretty things and reconnecting with her own beauty (that’s her on the left), and I’ve never been happier in my marriage.
I think I’ll keep this one at this for now; most of the other stuff seems trite by comparison.
