She gets gifts for me in advance of a holiday but she just can’t wait. Sometimes I torture her:
Her: “Um… Do you want a prize?”
Me: “Naaah… just save it for [insert distant holiday here].”
Her: (crestfallen) “…oh.”
But I had a rough week, so when she offered me something she had already told me was for Christmas I relented.
These little dudes are by puppetmistress Justina Kochansky (Articulate Matter on Flickr). I’ve been routinely sending my wife links to her clever little tableaux for months now, so after Shoshanah connected with her on Facebook they made a sneaky deal and now these little guys are MINE.
I suppose it’s worth mentioning that she’s having a birthday special on her Etsy store — buy one of her figures and she’ll throw in a vacuum tube character.

These guys are awesome! what a nice wife! is she an aries by anychance? I have a closet full of gifts that are for future holidays and I cant keep a secret either.
Oh boy. This sounds too familiar – Maybe Shosh is a Taurus? I do the same thing – giving a good gift is very gratifying, and I’m really into instant gratification . . .
